DRISHYAM : The Power Of Visualisation

DRISHYAM : The Power Of Visualisation
AUTHOR: SS | 31st March 2021 | Read Time: 4-6 mins

DRISHYAM
.. Remember the Ajay Devgan starrer thriller– where the power of human intelligence manifested via visual imagery?

Well… today I’m going to talk about something that each one of you will most easily (and enthusiastically) relate to….`Chobi’!

For readers who are not my students—`Chobi’ is a term used often in my class (and is a reference to movies)

Coming back to my train of thought—-You may not always remember things that you read, even if depicted in table or charts. However, once you have seen something, the impact is so powerful that it stays with us and manifests very easily in appropriate circumstances. More often than not, what we see is something that stays with us, nicely tucked into a pocket of our sub-conscious brain. That’s the power I’m talking of tapping into….the power of Drishyam! The power of Visualization.

For those of you who were getting excited that I am going to talk about movies in entirety—-well…it’s no surprise that I am going to connect this reference to my area of expertise…this was a technique to engage you to set premise for what I am going to discuss next.. to discuss bulls and bears..

Bringing DRISHYAM or Power of Visualization to Markets

So we cannot hope to ever achieve precision in forecasting. Even Lord Vishnu cannot comprehend the moods of Maa Laxmi. However, we may humbly submit to it. By submission, I mean `poorna samarpan’.

We have to OBSERVE what is happening—whether rational or irrational. What may seem irrational in a certain time frame, could potentially be completely rational in another.

Markets move on account of responses and reactions to unanticipated news. Such reactions are to some extent patternistic, especially if observed across multiple time frames and using the lens of fractal finance.

Charts are the best tool to observe market action…they summarise everything. An ardent trader would never fail to look into charts. This is where we talk about unleashing the power of Visualization.. The genesis of our core training module in Basic Technical Analysis.. Visual Trading.

Visual Trading program by SSEI is a brilliantly designed module which benefits not just new market entrants but also traders who have been regularly investing in the markets. The Visual Trading program comprehensively covers the basics of technical analysis with supreme focus on need for market discipline.

Key takeaways from the 5 day Visual Trading program are:

  • Philosophy of Technical Analysis
  • Psychology behind candlestick chart
  • Support and resistance
  • Trend Analysis
  • Multi Time Frame Confluence
  • Risk management and trading psychology
  • Removing emotional factors
  • Money Management (i.e, position sizing)

Note: I am a `Believer’….and people who know me, know it well that if I believe in something, I cannot but share it with everyone that exist in my ecosystem. Like I always say—I’ll be most ecstatic if I could make even a small difference in the lives (and career paths) of just 1% of the people connected to me…I’ll go to sleep peacefully, that yes–today, I made a difference.
