As we know the first step in the security construction is to target a market (market segment, asset class) 2- step 2 is to select the security from the target market i.e from the investment universe. For step two what there is two ways one is objective & 2nd is subjective. Can anyone give the example of subjective criteria (qualitative aspects). Is subjective criteria only held by the public commitee (like committee in bse & nse), or it can also held by the private instution or bank.

• If the above questions is right then in that case the subjective committe is different for both private institution & government institution, or government may interpret in making of my indices. 

Q-3 Can you please explain the meaning of this statement ” security market indices are constructed & managed like a portfolio of securities “. 

If it is managed & construct like portfolio of securities then for the fund manager market cap weighted or fundamental weighted is usefull and other is useless. 

Q-4 the djia (dow jones index) is based on price weighted method, as we know but there is lot of disadvantages of price weighted index, right. Then how can all the analyst in the market following djia for interpreting a current recent scenario of global markets because a     2 lakh₹ stocks not valuable than the 20 ₹ stocks which has higher market cap & market cap is the original wealth not the price otherwise more people want to invest in mrf rather than reliance or TCS
