Blaze (nickname) just had new business cards printed as:
Wojciech “Blaze” Blaszczykowski, CAIA, CFA
Do the cards violate standard VII B – reference to CFA Institute, CFA designation & CFA program?
- No
- Yes, because “CFA” should come before “CAIA”
- Yes, the business cards should not include nickname
Option 3
yes because a nickname is a pseudo name and hence cannot be used with the CFA designation. Only official name Registered with the institute can be used.
I thought so. But it is not a violation!
From Curriculum: there is nothing mentioned about not using nicknames on the business card with CFA.
From a practical perspective: It’s not a violation as well, because, I have met people using different “first” names for their business profile; eg. people of Chinese origin have names that are difficult for foreigners to pronounce, so they use English names like Johnny, Ernest, etc. with their last names and use it as Johnny Zhai, CFA or Zongyuan (Johnny) Zhai, CFA.
