Hello Sanjay Sir,
I am one of the student of SSEI since long.Having done with CA-Inter with an extensive 3 years of articleship exposure and also I am CFA level 3 candidate. I will be done with CFA level 3 by next year. Because of ny personal interest I don’t want to complete my CA as I have lost my interest altogether in Audit and Taxation.I want to build my career in Investment banking or Core Financial sector like Portfolio Management, Private Equity, Hedge Fund etc.
Few queries,I had :
1. Being only CA semiqualified and CFA Level 3 passed I won’t be able to land a good job in India because here a person with CA qualification is treated like a God though he might be unaware of all the financial terms. So,I thought to get an equivalent yet globally recognized certification i.e. CPA as I was planning to move to Canada or US, so could you please guide me should I go for CPA-US along with CFA or should I add FRM in my basket to land up a good job in US or Canada.
2. Through the best of my capabilities, the research I have carried, I have come to know that you need to have at least a good amount of experience (2 years) in India in a good bank or financial sector MNC where again a CA/CPA+CFA will add more advantage than CFA+FRM to get your first job and then through that MNC you should go for job in Canada and US
3. And I really want to know as a CFA fresher and FRM fresher, as said, for landing a good job in a good bank or multinational company and getting a good experience of 2 to two and half years and then go for visa.
but for a fresher it becomes very difficult to land a job in good top companies in India, even if you are a CFA and FRM,
so what should be the ideal pathway to go ahead for getting a good job for fresher in a good multinational company .
So, that either through internal transfer or on the basis of the experience I have gathered in that MNC, I would be able to move to Canada or US.
4. Also, one last thing , if I go for Canada or US, as the case may be,
I should go on the basis of work visa/permit and then over there work for few years and apply for PR
or
should I directly apply for PR from India, per se and then move to Canada and US,
what would be an ideal approach.?
Hey,
CPA is a very good option, if someone has made his mind to look for job in US or Canada. Combining it with CFA will great idea.
Prospect for landing a good job in India for fresh CFA/FRM is not that difficult provided u know how to go abt your Job serach, u just need to get in touch with right people.
What should be a right approach to go to Canada. I think someone already gone through the same would better guide you or you can take help of immigration consultants as well.
I have seen people go to Canada with few months worth of saving as part of job search and if u r having CPA + CFA hopefully u would land a good Job
All the very best.
It’s good that u r clear that u don’t want to pursue CA, however it not just audit n taxation. It covers everything that is their in finance. I’m saying so after having done CA, CFA n FRM and working in industry for sometime now
